Report of a case of renal artery aneurysm with covered stent at Hanoi Heart Hospital
Main Article Content
Abstract
Summary: Renal artery aneurysm is a rare disease, estimated to occur in approximately 0.1 percent of the population. Aneurysm occurs when the diameter of the aneurysm increases by more than 50% of the normal diameter of the adjacent area. Diagnosis was due to incidental discovery of renal vascular ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) scan, and magnetic resonance imaging of the abdominal aortic arterial system. Medical treatment if the aneurysm is small, asymptomatic and at low risk of rupture. Surgical treatment is basic, conventional but recently percutaneous intervention with stent placement is increasingly popular and has many advantages.
Clinical case: 62 years old female patient with history of hypertension examined for abdominal pain. Abdominal ultrasound suspected renal arterial aneurysm, the patient had a CT scan of the iliac aortic arterial system with contrast agent and detected an aneurysm in the middle 1/3 of the left renal artery, size 26×16mm, diameter of aneurysm neck 8mm, and a small amount of thrombus in the aneurysm. Treatment with percutaneous intervention using covered stent was successful at Hanoi Heart Hospital.
