Endoscopic lobectomy for low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer in national hospital of endocrinology

Abstract

Background: Endoscopic thyroid surgery is performed in some medical centres for lilited type of thyroid's diseases. The aim of this study is to evaluate surgical outcomes of endoscopic thyroid surgery treatment patients with low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer.Materials and Methods: prospective research. Patients with low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer who underwent endoscopic lobectomy without lymph node resection in National hospital of Endocrinology. We analyzed the clinico-pathologicalcharacteristics, surgical techniques and surgical outcomes. Results: from July 2019 to February 2020, 85 patients were included. Mean age was 32,9±7,1. 71 female patients (83,5%). Mean operative time was 48,2±7,5. 75 patients have papillary thyroid cancer. 1 patient with postoperative bleeding. There was no conversion to open surgery, no transient hypoparathyroidism or injury recurrent laryngeal nerve. Conclusions: Endoscopic thyroid lobectomy without lymph node resection is a safe and effective procedure for patients with low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer
