Transcatheter closure of perforated the right coronary sinus of valsalve into the right atrium at cardiovascular center, E hospital

Abstract

Introduction: Perforated sinus of Valsalva is a rare congenital defect; the natural history is not well defined, if left untreated, the prognosis is poor. It has been shown that conventional surgical repair of perforated sinus of Valsalva carries low morbidity and mortality. However, transcatheter closure of perforated sinus of Valsalva is a minimally invasive treatment method, avoiding the complications of anesthesia and postoperative surgery for the patient, while still ensuring effectiveness and low complication rate. [1]

Method: based on a clinical case at Cardiovascular Center- Hospital E and a review of the literature, the report aims to describe the risk factors, early diagnosis methods and appropriate management solutions for these lesions.

Case summary: A 34-year-old female admitted to the hospital because of shortness of breath and fatigue. The medical history was normal. Echocardiography detected: ruptured aneurysm of Valsalva sinus into the right atrium. The patient received transcatheter closure of perforated the sinus of Valsalva into the right atrium. The patient was then discharged from the hospital in a stable condition.

Conclusion:  Valsalva sinus aneurysm rupture is a rare injury, if left untreated, will affect your health. Transcatheter closure of perforated the sinus of Valsalva is a suitable alternative to surgical repair that is still effective.
