Abstract

Severe concurrent all thoracic aortic disease, from the ascending to the descending segment, is one of the most complex diseases of the aorta. The classic surgery to replace the entire aorta is very complicated and severe. The “frozen elephant trunk” technique (FET) is a relatively radical and safer solution than conventional surgery. FET technique improved by integrated endovascular intervention (stent-graft), thanks to its high efficiency and safety, has been thriving in the world for more than 10 years, but with large costs, it is not popular in Vietnam. Viet Duc university hospital has created an improved FET technique based on readily available, low-cost and more feasible materials for Vietnamese patients. The report aims to announce a clinical case of complex thoracic aortic disease that has been successfully treated with an this improved technique in December 2019.
